Strike Notice Issued
Dear Members,
Tonight, the WestJet Mainline Bargaining Committee formally issued strike notice.
While progress was made during bargaining today, the parties remain too far apart on several key issues to reach a tentative agreement that your Bargaining Committee could responsibly recommend to the membership.
As a result, strike notice has been issued in accordance with the Canada Labour Code. This is a significant step in the bargaining process, but it does not bring negotiations to an end. Bargaining will continue, and both parties remain committed to reaching an agreement at the table.
Your Bargaining Committee remains fully committed to negotiating a fair collective agreement that meaningfully recognizes the work, responsibilities, and professionalism of Cabin Crew. We will continue working around the clock to bridge the remaining gaps and secure an agreement that can be confidently brought forward for your consideration.
We know members are looking for certainty, and we remain focused on achieving that outcome through continued negotiations. Should there be any significant developments, you will hear directly from your Union.
In solidarity,
Your WestJet Mainline Bargaining Committee
