About Us

  • We are the Union representing WestJet, WestJet Encore, and Sunwing Cabin Crew.

As CUPE Local 8125, we are passionate, caring, hard-working, and committed to the effectiveness and success of our Local.

  • Our official local number is CUPE 8125.

We have chosen the name WestJet Component for simplicity and recognition. We are not a component structured local.

  • The four stripes in the logo symbolize the four current and past bargaining units in the WestJet Cabin Crew Community: WestJet Mainline, WestJet Encore, Swoop, and Sunwing. They represent the runway for aircraft takeoff. The Union's logo acknowledges the essential role of Cabin Crew in WestJet's success. It includes both English and French to represent our French-speaking cabin crew and the opening of YUL Base.

Acknowledgement of Indigenous Territories:

CUPE Local 8125 respectfully acknowledges that we are located on the traditional lands of Indigenous Peoples who have lived, traveled, and stewarded these territories since time immemorial. We recognize that Calgary is situated on lands that continue to be home to diverse Indigenous communities, and we honor their enduring connection to the land.

As cabin crew working with WestJet, WestJet Encore, and Sunwing, our work takes us across the skies and through many regions that are the traditional territories of numerous First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. We acknowledge the importance of these lands and their histories, and we recognize the ongoing presence and contributions of Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island.

We are committed to fostering understanding, respect, and meaningful reconciliation in all the places we live, work, and travel.
