Lockout Notice Issued
Dear Members,
This evening, your Bargaining Committee issued 72-hour strike notice after determining that, despite progress at the bargaining table, the parties remained too far apart to reach a tentative agreement that could be brought forward to the membership.
Shortly thereafter, the Company issued its own 72-hour lockout notice.
Bargaining is continuing, and your Bargaining Committee will remain at the table and continue working around the clock to bridge the remaining gaps. A tentative agreement can still be reached at any time before either notice takes effect.
We will continue to keep you informed as negotiations progress. Until then, please rely only on official communications from CUPE Local 8125 for bargaining updates and direction.
In solidarity,
Your WestJet Mainline Bargaining Committee
