WestJet Component is inviting all available Cabin Crew Members to join us for a Day of Action in Calgary (YYC) on Tuesday, July 14.
This event is an opportunity for Flight Attendants to come together in solidarity, demonstrate our unity, and raise public awareness about the issues impacting our profession. Your participation helps send a strong message that WestJet Flight Attendants are united, engaged, and standing together.
The day will begin with a rally and member gathering at the Marriott In-Terminal Hotel at Calgary International Airport, followed by an informational picket at Campus (22 Aerial Place), and will conclude with an optional member engagement event.
Edmonton Members – RSVP Required for Bus Transportation
WestJet Component will be providing round-trip bus transportation from Edmonton to Calgary for registered members.
Seats are limited and only members who RSVP for the bus are guaranteed transportation. If you plan to travel from Edmonton, please ensure you complete your RSVP as soon as possible.

Members check in, mingle and enjoy coffee, tea, and snacks before
taking their seats to get ready for the rally and pump-up event.
You will sign in upon arrival, receive a union lanyard (if you don't already have one), and verify full uniform compliance. Before taking your seat, you will also choose a Picket Sign to hold during the Informational Picket. Stations:

Information Picket: Members exit the bus in formation with their
picket signs and walk down the sidewalk between Campus and ITC.
This is a completely silent event.
We have scheduled a 1.5-hour window to allow for flexibility depending on turnout. Members will not be on the line for that entire period. Our standing time is approximately 30 minutes. |

Common Questions:
Q: Can Encore Cabin Crew participate?
A: Encore Cabin Crew are welcome at the rally event(s) at each airport, but must NOT be in uniform, and can NOT participate in the Informational Picket portion(s).
Q: Can I bring a guest to the event?
A: Guests are welcome to view the rally event(s), however they may not accompany members on the buses or participate in the Informational Picket(s).
Q: Are our pilots invited to these events?
A: No. Similarly to when ALPA held similar events leading up the negotiation of their last contract, members from other unions are not invited to participate. ALPA members are encouraged to engage with their elected reps if they have questions about participating
Q: Why can’t I just go directly to the Campus for the YYC Informational Picket?
A: All registered members are encouraged to meet at the locations and times listed above to receive the instructions, briefings, and signage for maximum effectiveness of the event.
