Canada’s aviation system is in crisis—and front-line workers are paying the price.

Chronic staffing shortages at NAV CANADA are causing daily delays, even in perfect weather. These delays aren’t just frustrating for passengers—they force airline cabin crew to work unpaid for hours while managing safety and customer care.

Unlike dispatchers, and ground crew, cabin crew are only paid during flight time. This means we can work a 12-hour day and be paid for less than half. That’s below minimum wage, in one of the most expensive countries to live.

Meanwhile, NAV CANADA continues to rely on outdated “flow control” procedures, wasting time, money, and resources instead of investing in staffing and modern systems.

This isn’t sustainable. It’s not safe. And it’s not fair.
